Alexandria Sporting Club: Historic Golf in the Heart of Alexandria
Alexandria Sporting Club brings more than a century of sporting history to one of Egypt’s Mediterranean cities. Its golf course sits within the club’s established grounds and offers a traditional parkland round in an urban setting, combining tree-lined corridors with bunkers that reward accuracy from the tee.
Course at a glance
Design and playing character
The 18-hole course is a par-70 layout, measuring about 5,965 metres from the men’s tees. Its relatively compact length does not make it a simple round: the hole sequence includes a mix of par threes, fours and fives, and the bunkering asks golfers to think about position as well as distance. The club also lists practice and golf services including a pro shop, club hire and caddie support.
Setting and club facilities
The course is part of a large multi-sport club in Alexandria rather than a stand-alone golf resort. That setting gives the round a distinctly local atmosphere: the golfer moves through a mature sporting landscape while remaining close to the city’s neighbourhoods and Mediterranean character. The club’s wider facilities include dining and other sports, making golf one part of a broader member and guest experience.
