Education City Golf Club: José María Olazábal’s 33-Hole Golf Destination in Doha
Education City Golf Club brings a distinctive, inclusive golf concept to the heart of Doha. Set within the Education City campus, the venue was developed as a place to grow the game and welcome golfers at different stages, from first-time players to championship competitors. Its 33 holes are arranged across three formats, making it one of Qatar’s most versatile golf facilities.
Course at a glance
Design and course formats
Spanish golfer and course designer José María Olazábal designed the facility in line with USGA standards. The 18-hole championship course plays to par 72 and measures 7,306 yards from the championship tees. Alongside it are a fully floodlit six-hole championship loop and a separate floodlit, nine-hole par-three course that is played on foot. The 120-hectare setting includes practice and learning facilities at the Centre of Excellence. The championship course itself is not floodlit, while the shorter formats allow golfers to play in the evening.
Club and practice facilities
The Centre of Excellence supports coaching and player development, with facilities designed to introduce golf to children, beginners and experienced players. The club’s varied course formats allow for a full championship round, a shorter evening game or focused short-game practice. Its location among Education City’s universities and schools also places the club within a wider environment of learning and community activity.
