Kuwait International Golf & Country Club: A Nine-Hole Course at Mina Abdullah

Kuwait International Golf & Country Club is a nine-hole golf facility in Mina Abdullah, in Kuwait’s Al Ahmadi Governorate. The club was established in 2009 and was planned as the first stage of a larger golf development. Its setting on Wafra Road gives it a different position from the older sand-based course at Ahmadi and the established resort club at Sahara.

The current course has nine holes and plays to par 36. It was designed by James “Jim” Ruelle and measures approximately 3,256 yards from the black tees. The layout is a fully turfed course with five teeing options, extensive bunkering and large lake features. The design combines a traditional mix of par threes, fours and fives, while the water and bunker placement adds strategic choices throughout the round.

Practice facilities include a driving range measuring approximately 360 yards long, practice areas and a range-teeing area. Golf directories also list club fitting, caddie hire, golf lessons, equipment rental and clubhouse services. A 27-hole masterplan has been associated with the development, although the published current course data describes the operating layout as nine holes.
