Algiers Golf Club: A Historic Course and the Dely Ibrahim Redevelopment
Algiers Golf Club is located in Dely Ibrahim, within the capital’s western sports district. The course grounds date from the colonial period and have remained part of the city’s sporting landscape. The site has also been the focus of a modernisation project intended to create a contemporary executive golf facility while respecting the existing trees and natural topography.
Course at a glance
Course history and redevelopment
A preliminary redevelopment design prepared by IGGA International proposes an 18-hole executive course on the existing grounds. The plan includes a 300-metre driving range, covered practice tees, two large putting greens with bunkers and three lakes. The project documentation describes an environmentally sensitive layout that follows the existing trees and landform, minimising earthworks and integrating golf with the wider sports complex. The published design is a project record, rather than a verified final scorecard; no current par, yardage or completion date is assigned in this profile.
Facilities and local golf setting
The redevelopment masterplan also includes a new clubhouse with a prayer room, parking and service access, alongside ten padel courts and the supporting maintenance and irrigation facilities. The Algerian Golf Federation is based at Terrain de Golf, Rue Ahmed Ouaked, Dely Ibrahim, and its 2025–26 season activity has included events on the Dely Ibrahim greens, confirming the site’s continuing role in the country’s golf development.
