Djerba Golf Club: A 27-Hole Martin Hawtree Design by the Mediterranean

Djerba Golf Club is a 27-hole golf destination on Tunisia’s island of Djerba, set among palms and the low coastal landscape close to the Mediterranean. The club’s three nine-hole loops allow players to build different 18-hole combinations, giving repeat visitors more than one way to experience the property. The setting combines a resort atmosphere with a course layout that uses the island’s natural vegetation and terrain.

DESIGN AND LAYOUT

Course design and layout

The course was designed by Martin Hawtree and is arranged as three distinct nine-hole loops: Les Palmiers, par 37 and 3,056 metres; La Mer, par 36 and 3,130 metres; and Les Acacias, par 35 and 2,722 metres. The loops can be combined to create varied rounds, with different lengths and playing character. The 27-hole format gives the club flexibility for mixed-ability groups, shorter rounds and tournament play.
