A Coore & Crenshaw design shaped by reclaimed mining land
01 / COURSE
Streamsong Red opened in 2012 as one of the resort’s original championship courses. Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw used the dramatic landforms left by the property’s phosphate-mining history to create a course with broad strategic choices, firm playing surfaces and large natural sandy areas.
The design is not about forcing a single line of play. Some holes offer more than one route to the green, while others invite players to use the ground and shape a shot around a dune or bunker. That freedom is part of the Red Course’s appeal, but it also means that course management matters from the opening tee.
The Biarritz-inspired 16th asks for touch
02 / COURSE
The 16th is one of Streamsong Red’s signature moments. The resort describes it as a classic Biarritz-style hole, with a large green divided by a pronounced central swale. The shape creates a real decision: a shot that lands on the wrong plateau can leave a delicate putt or a demanding recovery.
The opening and middle holes have their own strategic character too. The first is an uphill par 4 framed by dunes, while the long 15th is dominated by a large bunker on the left. Both holes show how the course uses landform and sand to shape options rather than relying on water hazards alone.
A strategic course, not a target-practice layout
Streamsong Red rewards golfers who read the ground. The dunes, waste areas and green contours create options — and the best choice is not always the most aggressive one.
A different Florida golf trip
03 / COURSE
Streamsong is a destination resort rather than a single-course stop. The Red Course sits alongside the Blue and Black courses, each with a separate architectural voice. Visitors who stay for more than one day can compare the different ways the designers responded to the same broad landscape.
The resort publishes tee-time and day-guest options, along with accommodation and other experiences. Check current access and reservation rules before arranging travel, and allow enough time between rounds to rest, eat and enjoy the wider property.
Plan through Streamsong’s resort and day-guest channels
Streamsong publishes tee-time reservations and day-guest experiences on its official website. Confirm whether your preferred date is available for a day visit or requires a resort stay, and check current rates, lodging and course conditions before travel.
