Al Mouj Golf: Greg Norman’s Championship Course Along Oman’s Coast
Al Mouj Golf is one of Oman’s signature golf destinations, set along the Gulf of Oman coastline in Muscat. Designed by Greg Norman, the course follows approximately two kilometres of shoreline, with the Hajar Mountains forming a dramatic backdrop inland. Its coastal position, open vistas and carefully shaped playing corridors create a championship experience that is closely connected to the landscape.
Course at a glance
Design and playing character
The 18-hole course plays to par 72 and measures 7,342 yards from the championship tees. Norman’s design uses the natural coastal terrain and the movement of the land to shape the routing, with several holes offering direct views of the sea. Wind from the Gulf of Oman can influence club selection and shot shape, while the course asks golfers to balance distance with accuracy around its bunkers and greens. The layout is designed for championship play but offers multiple tee positions for different standards.
Club facilities and setting
The clubhouse provides dining and hospitality facilities, while the golf operation includes a pro shop, practice areas and a golf academy. The course is part of the wider Al Mouj Muscat development, with hotels, restaurants, marina facilities and residential areas nearby. This setting allows golfers to combine a round with a stay or a broader visit to Muscat’s waterfront.
