Discovery Dunes: Tom Fazio’s Private Members’ Course in Dubai South
Discovery Dunes is a private golf destination in Dubai South, developed as a members’ club around a championship course by American architect Tom Fazio. The project is designed to offer a low-density, nature-led golf environment, with extensive landscaped space and a residential and lifestyle concept built around the course. It represents a different model from Dubai’s established resort clubs, with membership at the centre of access.
Course at a glance
Design and playing character
The 18-hole championship course was designed by Tom Fazio and plays to par 72. The layout is planned around naturalistic landforms, broad playing corridors and strategic bunkering, with the course integrated into a wider landscape rather than being treated as a stand-alone sporting facility. Fazio’s design approach focuses on routing, ground movement and shot options, creating a course intended to reward thoughtful play and varied strategy.
Club facilities and membership
Discovery Dunes is developed as a private members’ club, with clubhouse, practice and lifestyle facilities forming part of the wider offering. The club’s positioning places golf alongside community, wellbeing and residential amenities. The project is intended to serve its membership rather than operate as a conventional pay-and-play public resort course.
