Flamingo Golf Monastir: Ronald Fream’s Olive-Plateau Championship Course
Flamingo Golf Monastir is an 18-hole course set on a plateau overlooking the Sebkha and the Mediterranean coast. The fairways wind through a landscape of mature olive trees and open views, creating a setting that feels different from the resort courses along Tunisia’s sandy beaches. The course is a recognised part of the Monastir golf offer and has been designed to appeal to players across a range of abilities.
Course at a glance
Course design and layout
Designed by Californian architect Ronald Fream, the course plays to par 72 and is listed at 6,402 metres in Tunisia’s official golf destination directory. Five teeing areas on each hole provide a range of distances, while the routing uses the plateau’s terrain to create elevation changes, strategic hazards and varied approaches. The club also lists three practice or teaching holes and a driving range, giving players options beyond the championship round.
Club facilities and playing experience
The clubhouse includes a pro shop, restaurant, lounge and bar overlooking the course. Equipment and buggy rental, caddie services, golf instruction and an academy support visitors and local players. The setting among olive trees and the surrounding resort landscape makes the club a distinctive stop in the Monastir region.
