What is the LPGA Tour?

The Ladies Professional Golf Association Tour is the leading global circuit for women’s professional golf. Its schedule includes weekly tournaments, team events, national Opens and the five women’s major championships. The tour travels across North America, Asia and Europe, giving players a wide range of course conditions and competitive settings throughout the year.

How the season is organised

Most tournaments are individual stroke-play events, with players trying to complete the scheduled rounds in the fewest total strokes. Fields and cuts vary by event. Results contribute to season standings and help shape qualification for key late-season tournaments. The CME Group Tour Championship is a season-ending focal point, while the exact qualification mechanics and points rules should be checked against the current official season information.

The five majors

The LPGA calendar includes The Chevron Championship, the U.S. Women’s Open, the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, The Amundi Evian Championship and the AIG Women’s Open. Each has its own identity, host traditions and challenges. These are separately organised championships, but they are central to the season because they test players across very different courses and conditions.

How to follow the tour

  • Follow the season standings as well as individual leaderboards to understand who is building momentum toward the finale.
  • Keep an eye on international swings, where course style and travel can create different tests from week to week.
