A beachfront championship course by Gary Player
01 / SETTING
Gary Player designed the 18-hole championship course, which Viya identifies as the Arabian Gulf’s first beachfront golf course. The layout uses the island’s coastal dunes and saltwater lakes, with large bunkers and multiple tee positions offering a range of playing lines and distances.
A back-nine update with Nicklaus Design
02 / COURSE DESIGN
The back nine was recently redesigned in partnership with Nicklaus Design. The work adds a contemporary chapter to the course while retaining the coastal setting that defines Saadiyat. The result brings together Gary Player’s original concept and a later design collaboration.
Coastal nature, practice and clubhouse

The course sits in a natural marine environment, with the possibility of seeing dolphins and other marine life offshore. Practice facilities and coaching support players developing their game, while Hawksbill restaurant at the clubhouse provides a place to relax after a round.
