From the University of Texas to the top of professional golf, Scottie Scheffler has built a remarkable record: four major championships, Olympic gold, two FedExCup titles and 22 PGA TOUR victories through the 2026 season.

From Texas standout to the world’s leading player
A patient rise built on elite ball-striking, consistency and repeated performances on the biggest stages.
Scottie Scheffler was born on June 21, 1996, in Ridgewood, New Jersey, and grew up in the Dallas area. He starred at the University of Texas, turning professional in 2018 after a successful amateur career. His early years as a professional included a rapid climb through the Korn Ferry Tour, where he won twice in 2019 and earned both Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year honours.
He became one of golf’s defining competitors in 2022. After collecting his first PGA TOUR titles early that season, Scheffler won the Masters Tournament at Augusta National, then rose to world No. 1. He has since built a record defined by high-level ball-striking, repeated victories and an unusual ability to sustain form across a demanding schedule.
His career spans success at all four major championships: the Masters in 2022 and 2024, the PGA Championship in 2025 and The Open Championship in 2025. He has also won THE PLAYERS Championship twice, captured the FedExCup in 2024 and 2026, and earned Olympic gold for the United States in Paris in 2024.

Playing style and legacy
Why Scheffler is so difficult to beat over four rounds.
Scheffler’s foundation is his tee-to-green game. His approach play, distance control and ability to find greens in regulation allow him to create scoring chances without relying on extraordinary putting streaks. He combines power with disciplined target selection, and often turns small advantages into a steady stream of birdie opportunities.
His balance, footwork and unconventional-looking swing have become recognisable, but the defining feature is the repeatability of his strike. Away from the ball, Scheffler is known for a calm, understated competitive manner. The combination of technical consistency and sustained focus has carried him from his first TOUR win in 2022 to major titles, Olympic gold and multiple FedExCup championships.
