Yas Links Abu Dhabi: The Middle East’s True Links Golf Experience
On the western shore of Yas Island, Yas Links offers a distinctly different view of golf in the region. Rolling links-style fairways, coastal dunes and open views across the Arabian Gulf give the course the character of a seaside links venue rather than a conventional parkland resort.
The essentials
VENUE PROFILE
On the western shore of Yas Island, Yas Links offers a distinctly different view of golf in the region. Rolling links-style fairways, coastal dunes and open views across the Arabian Gulf give the course the character of a seaside links venue rather than a conventional parkland resort.
The championship course: a Kyle Phillips design
01 / SETTING
Kyle Phillips designed the 18-hole, Par 72 championship layout. The routing works with the coastal terrain, exposed sandy areas and changing wind, while several holes open toward views of the Arabian Gulf. Viya describes Yas Links as the Middle East’s first true links course.
The Par 3 Academy Course
02 / COURSE DESIGN
Alongside the championship layout, the club has a separate nine-hole academy course, Par 27. It provides a shorter format for beginners and for golfers who want to work on distance control, trajectory and the short game without taking on a full championship round.
Practice, academy and clubhouse
03 / EXPERIENCE
Floodlit practice facilities and coaching programmes extend the offer beyond the course itself. The clubhouse and dining options make Yas Links a destination for a full golf day on Yas Island, whether the priority is a championship round, a lesson or time at the practice areas.
