Doha Golf Club: Peter Harradine’s Championship Course in West Bay Lagoon
Doha Golf Club has been at the centre of golf in Qatar since the late 1990s. Located in West Bay Lagoon, the club combines a championship course with a floodlit academy layout and practice facilities, creating a full golf destination close to Doha’s urban waterfront. Its desert-course character is defined by planted fairways and greens set against the sandy landscape, with water and vegetation shaping the course’s visual rhythm.

Design and course formats
The 18-hole championship course was designed by Peter Harradine and plays to par 72. From the championship tees it measures approximately 7,437 yards. A separate nine-hole academy course is floodlit for evening play and offers a shorter route for newer players and golfers working on their game. The club describes the wider venue as a 27-hole golf destination, with eight lakes, thousands of trees and shrubs, and a full-length driving range. Afternoon wind can become a meaningful factor in club selection and shot control.
Club and practice facilities
The club’s Arabian-style clubhouse overlooks the closing holes and provides dining and hospitality services. Golfers have access to a pro shop, driving range, putting and pitching greens, rental services and coaching. The academy course can be played into the evening, while the championship course is designed for full daylight rounds.
