Golf de Carthage: A Historic 18-Hole Course in the Tunis Suburbs
Golf de Carthage is one of Tunisia’s historic golf venues, located in Chotrana 2 in the La Soukra area north-east of central Tunis. Created in 1927, the club has a long place in the sporting life of the capital and offers a compact course whose character differs from the full-length resort championship layouts found elsewhere in the country.
Course at a glance
Course design and setting
The course has 18 holes, a par of 66 and a published length of 4,524 metres. It was redesigned in 2013 by French architect Yves Bureau, who refreshed the layout while retaining its compact and strategic character. The shorter overall length places emphasis on accurate tee shots, approach control and scoring on the par threes and shorter par fours. The club also provides practice facilities and a golf academy for developing players.
Academy and club facilities
The clubhouse includes a restaurant with terrace and a lounge bar, giving the course a social role beyond the playing round. The club’s location in La Soukra places it close to the capital’s northern suburbs and the wider Carthage coastline, making it a convenient golf venue for residents and visitors based in Tunis.
